Abstract

Background. The object of research is the block of the analog-to-digital Converter block in the structure of information and measurement systems. The subject of the study is the metrological reliability of the analog-to-digital Converter block in the structure of information and measurement systems. The purpose of this work is to obtain a mathematical description of the evaluation of the metrological characteristics of an analog-to-digital Converter at the design stage in order to predict the metrological reliability of the block under consideration.
Methods. Two approaches to the estimation of ADC MN are considered: the first one using the method of analytical-probabilistic forecasting and the second one using the method of metrological analysis based on the use of a priori knowledge in the form of measurement equations and mathematical models of objects, conditions and measuring instruments.
Materials and methods. Two approaches to the estimation of ADC MN are considered: the first one using the method of analytical-probabilistic forecasting and the second one using the method of metrological analysis based on the use of a priori knowledge in the form of measurement equations and mathematical models of objects, conditions and measuring instruments.
Results. Using the analytical-probabilistic forecasting method, it was possible to obtain a mathematical model of the basic error of one of the leading modules in the ADC block structure. The constructed mathematical model will allow us to calculate the MN indicators of the module under consideration and in the future give a probabilistic assessment of the MN of the designed block as a whole. The obtained mathematical description of the block error with the use of measurement equations allows for metrological analysis and calculation of the total error of the block under study at various times of the upcoming operation and, in the future, also to evaluate the MN indicators of the block under study.
Conclusions. Construction of mathematical models of the studied metrological characteristics and carrying out metrological analysis with obtaining the required calculation ratios allows us to solve the problem of evaluating the metrological reliability of the analog-to-digital conversion unit in the structure of information and measurement systems.
